About Me
Thank you for stopping by!
Hi, I'm Leslie. I want to tell you a little about me and how Personality Deep Dives was founded.
As an American citizen, I was born and grew up overseas, before being uprooted at the age of 18 to live my adult life in the United States. Currently, I live in Atlanta, Georgia. I am a cherished wife and blessed mother of six incredible adult children. After my fulfilling twelve-year career as a Recreational Therapist, I transitioned into my second career as a Home Educator for all my children. For the last twenty-five years, I've lesson planned, graded, and taught every subject from k-11th grade. Then for 12th grade, I am a guidance counselor while each child has dual enrolled at a university close to where we live. When my youngest entered high school, I was faced with the reality, that after two decades of teaching and mentoring, I only had four years left before I would be fully retired from this career.
Honestly, I was beginning to feel the itch to switch gears a few years before my retirement. Today, in hindsight, I can see how all my past life experiences were wonderful stepping stones to my third career. After a series of different types of training and a few certifications, I’m now using my God-given charisms, the skills I’ve mastered, and the different modalities I’ve learned, to help married couples and disengaged families to rebuild communication, intimacy, and connectivity in their relationships with God, self, and others.
“It is foolish to think that we will enter heaven without entering into ourselves”
- St. Teresa of Avila.
What I keep finding over and over again is that most people make the mistake of only wanting to focus on the outside of themselves to improve their relationships and life circumstances. In marriages, typically the spouse who comes for help has forgotten about the plank in their own eye and is quick to blame and point out the splinter in their spouse's eye (Matthew 7: 3-5). However, the only way to transform your life and improve your relationships is, to begin with, some inner housekeeping on yourself.
When you become aware of your innate and natural preferences aka how God hardwired you; and you become a student of interior thoughts, emotions, and actions; and then in conjunction with the Holy Spirit you learn a few inner housekeeping management skills, only then can you begin to truly transform with grace from the inside out. These housekeeping practices teach you the art of listening and understanding before needing to be understood. They show you how to serve others, who innately think, feel, and act vastly different from yourself. This is the core of human formation through the lens of Catholic anthropology.
As you start becoming more aware and accepting of your own God-given unique abilities, natural talents, strengths and challenges, charismatic gifts, personality preferences, and innate dispositions, you can’t help but appreciate and acknowledge all the intricate and very different ways God uniquely designed other people.
Your unique God-given differences were designed to complement others, not to change, blame, judge, or condemn them. That includes your spouses, children, grandchildren, in-laws, friends, coworkers, etc. Other people don't do things differently than you, to intentionally irritate you, they do them because that is how God hardwired them!!! Learn what that means for you and those you love most in your life!!
This lack of human formation as noted by St. John Paul II in one of his final written works, called Pastores Dabo Vobis, is how and why Personality Deep Dives was founded.
It is within the family of origin that a priest's formation should be initially nurtured and built on a solid foundation, long before they even enter the seminar.
As a Personality & Human Formation expert, my training is grounded in Catholic anthropology, in conjunction with the use of a variety of personality profiling systems, and inner healing practices. Each program has been prayerfully and carefully adapted for the average layperson.
As a Facilitator, Adviser, Coach, and Educator we introduce a proprietary blend of reliable, proven, systems, frameworks, and resources that equip parents to build that foundation on rock and not on sand. Each program is structured in a way that prayerfully encourages individuals to face their personal realities and grow in virtue. This is how we can abide by God's Will in our everyday life.
Most of the tools and modalities taught and used here at Personality Deep Dives are not commonly known or used in marriages and families today. In my humble opinion, I believe this is one reason why the vocation to the priesthood is suffering today, why we have so many disengaged and dysfunctional families and a ridiculous number of preventable addictions in today's culture.
The various programs here at Personality Deep Dives are structured to help you learn who God created you to be in your own unique design. As an individual, married couple, or family you will acquire a clearer awareness of yourself and others. You will learn acceptance, and how to persevere in autonomy and affirmation. You will master your approachability, and foster altruism in all your relationships.
This way you can follow God's first two great commandments “… to love God with all your heart, mind, body, and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself.”
My mission is to be open to the Holy Spirit’s guidance, so that grace can be administered to help heal, rekindle, and strengthen relationships. There’s no greater satisfaction than setting people on fire for God’s kingdom here on earth!
Some noted benefits that have been reported to me by different clients...
πThe number one feedback I get is how people’s intimacy with God has deepened greatly.
πWidows have told me they were able to figure out who God wanted them to be without their spouse.
πSeveral couples have reported that their neglected marriages are now rekindled and going strong.
πOlder parents have told me they’ve learned how to respectfully reconnect with their adult children.
π One of my favorites was a couple who reported feeling purpose and fulfillment again, after learning how to become strategic grandparents.
…when I am not advising, coaching, educating, or facilitating workshops; leading group studies, teaching high school prep classes, or loving on my two adorable grandchildren... You can find me either penning my life stories of Holy encounters at Midlife Realignment (a charism in progress) or spending fun, relaxing, quality time with my 85lb English Labradors aka the most lovable and adored lapdog…
